Arrow Creek and Double Diamond

This ride is located in the southwest portion of the city. It runs through subdivisions and new construction areas. Traffic is generally light and the rides are very pleasant. There are degrees of climbing involved depending upon which parts of the ride you do but the scenery is well worth the effort. The easiest way to access this area is to ride or drive up Zollezzi Lane, turn left onto Thomas Creek Road and then right on Arrow Creek Parkway. You can also drive up Arrow Creek Parkway from South Virginia Street it splits with Zollezzi going to the right and Arrow Creek veering to the left. This may be more hills that some would want to ride with about a fifteen hundred feet gain from Virginia Street and about five hundred feet gain from the Entrance to Arrow Creek subdivision. You can also split this ride into 2 shorter rides with Arrow Creek containing the hills and Double Diamond as a flat faster paced ride. The Double Diamond/Damonte Ranch portion of this ride is pan flat with light to moderate traffic. Steamboat Drive runs east to Rio Wrangler and Damonte Ranch High School. I prefer to turn right on the New Veteran's Parkway and proceed till it ends. Come back on Veterans Parkway and turn right onto Rio Wrangler and go northeast past the high school and back to Steamboat. Turn left and go a quarter of a mile to Carat and turn right. You can then follow Carat back to Veterans Blvd turn right and take this new street all the way to South Meadows Parkway. Turn left and head back toward 395 (west) and back into the Double Diamond subdivision. At this point there are many options depending upon where you are going. There are several shopping centers and coffee shops if you are inclined to take a break. Riding in the southeastern portion is very enjoyable and very flat and can accommodate riders of all skill levels. Moderate to light traffic is the rule here once you pass the Damonte Ranch Walmart and the access to US 395 on ramps.
